Promoting Healthy Lifestyles

A society where young people are healthy and reach their full potential

Who We Are

Partnering to build a society where all young people are healthy and reach their full potential.

SCAD is a youthful organisation that promotes sobriety and healthy lifestyles among young people. Our efforts primarily aim to reach most vulnerable young people 10-24 years.

Aware that young people are vulnerable to a multitude of health problems that  negatively influence their growth and contribution to their communities, we pursue opportunities and investments to improve their health and wellbeing.

Investing in young people’s health presents triple benefits-improving their health now; enhancing their wellbeing across the life course; and contributing to the wellbeing of future generations.

03.

— Our Story

Concerned with the rising cases of substance use in their school in 1997, four boys formed SCAD as a health club to create awareness among fellow students, on substance use harms. Mentored and trained by a leading Kenyan psychiatrist on substance use harms and other issues, they rolled out the awareness activities in other schools, creating the foundations for present day SCAD.
